Singer-songwriter Walt Sargent is a trained baritone whose songs are an eclectic mix of Americana, pop and jazz. His first CD received great reviews from independent small press and as well as airplay on college radio.
“This will perk up your ears. The sense of amusement rampant throughout the disc is … addicting.” – Aiding & Abetting Vol IV, No. 13
Many of his songs are humorous. ‘Conversation With Myself’ is about needing someone to talk to and giving himself a call. When he gets his answering machine, he realizes he is probably screening his call.
“Laced with humor at every turn. Eerie.” – Gajoob Magazine
He writes about love and loss. ‘Heartless Holiday’ is a heart-wrenching anti-Valentine’s Day song. ‘Down by the Pond’ is about his late brother and his son who survived.
“… warrants repeat listenings.” – Factsheet 5 No. 57
‘Beautiful’ is a pop-rock song written for Avril Lavigne. Though she never heard it, the song placed 3rd in a national competition (Dallas Songwriting Competition 2007).
“Full of radio-friendly singles.” – Ogyr Network Series 4/Issue 3
‘Out of this World’ was inspired by Eastern philosophy, something that subtly colors his music.
“Unique.” – Good Times Magazine
