DESCRIPTION

Spend the day with two of Spain's most revered singers, both divas in their own right and daughters of some of the greatest stars in the history of Grand Opera.

3pm | Opera Gala with Montserrat Martí Caballé
It is certain that for most any opera lover the surnames Martí and Caballé are a reminder of two of the greatest universally known singers in the art form's history, soprano Montserrat Caballé and tenor Bernabé Martí. Montserrat Martí Caballé is the daughter of these two stars, from whom she inherited her deep love and respect for opera as well as her great talent.

This recital is a journey through the world of Opera and Spanish Zarzuela with a selection of some of the classical genre's most fascinating solos and duets, including Giacomo Puccini's "Oh mio babbino caro", "La ci darem la mano" by W.A. Mozart or "Largo al Factotum" by G. Rossini. And being a Spanish singer, Caballé of course will include such striking Spanish works as "Me llaman la primorosa" by Giménez, "Todas las mañanitas" by Penella and pieces by Manuel de Falla or Federico Garcia Lorca.

6pm | Bacchus in Love with Cecilia Lavilla Berganza
"Music is the wine that inspires new creative processes, and I am the Bacchus God who presses out this glorious wine for humanity and makes you spiritually drunk" - Ludwig van Beethoven
Bacchus in Love is an inebriating mix of good wines and good music; duets and songs that speak to us of passion and joy, friendships and partying, exaltation and inspiration.

Bacchus's divine mission was to mix music and wine to free from worry and enjoy the moment. Together soprano Cecilia Lavilla Berganza, daughter of the grand opera diva Teresa Berganza, baritone Luis Santana and pianist Victor Carbajo exalt the goodness of "miracle juices" by interpreting an extensive repertoire of different composers and celebrating this exciting and passionate pairing.

"La Mouche" duet by J. Offenbach, "I Bevitori" by Donizzetti, "la Habanera" by Penella are just some of the many pieces that, paired with a good glass of wine, will make your evening all the more pleasant. As Dante Alighieri said, "Wine sows poetry into hearts."
