The Music Study Club of Port Washington
Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 2 pm
DESCRIPTION

The Music Study Club of Port Washington presents a delightful afternoon of classical and light classical music performed by its talented members. Come enjoy pianists, singers and instrumentalists who will share their love of familiar and original compositions.

Originally known as the "Tuesday Afternoon Musical", the Music Study Club of Port Washington was founded in 1919 by a group of local musicians who met informally to perform and discuss music. In 1925 the Club joined the National Federation of Music Clubs. Since the inception of the club, the meetings have begun with the presentation of a research paper on a musicological topic chosen in advance by the members, preceded by a musical performance - all integral to the club's ongoing mission. The club continues to thrive and to serve the community through the Music Study Club Scholarship for public school students, charitable contributions to local organizations, and public performances.

Doors open at 1:30 PM for tea and cookies.

All tea refreshments provided thanks to SerendipiTEA.
