Greening Port Washington
A Conversations from Main Street event
Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 7 pm

Just how green IS Port Washington? What can we as individuals and businesses do to make our community environmentally friendly and sustainable?

We can't change Washington but we can change Port Washington.
Let's talk about how.

Take the Green Challenge. Bring your ideas and add to our Community Toolkit.

Our panel of community members and environmental experts will start the discussion with information about climate change, sustainability and environmental health. We need YOU to share your ideas and help build a tool kit for positive local action.

The panel is moderated by Cynthia Litman. Scheduled to appear are:

Dr. Hildur Pálsdóttir, an environmental educator who serves on the Board of Trustees for the Nassau County Science Museum. She is president of the local non-profit Full STEAM Ahead and
a member of the international TreeSisters reforestation project. She received her PhD from the Max-Planck Institute of Biophysics, Department of Membrane Biology, where she studied cellular bioenergetics.

Lynn Capuano, Program Director for Grassroots Environmental Education's How Green is My Town. project.

Amanda Kranz & Max Goldman, Schreiber HS students from Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington's April 28 Youth Climate Summit, which is designed to educate, inspire and create action in today's youth.

Come early for a free gift to help you go Green this summer.

Conversations from Main Street is Landmark's free public affairs series. Its purpose is to encourage free and open discourse on issues of public interest.
